Tips on getting a successful blog:

1. Have a organized blog; Get a good looking theme. If you post only pictures on your blog, I recommend you have an endless scolling blog. Delete posts and promotions after some time, don’t have extras scattered all over the place. Try to awnser your questions private or have a question blog.

2. Backgrounds; Get a nice looking background that really suites your theme. People get headaches of the flashy and gif backgrounds. The movement of images can give a headache to many people. 

3. Promo games/lists; Make posts of First ‘__’ to reblog get a promo. Reblog small promo list, do not reblog ones like ‘first 100’ especialy if the lists are not small because you won’t gain any followers. Reblog small lists like ‘first 5’.

4. Ask people to check out your blog! ; If you have a good blog with good posts, then go ahead and asks other blogs to check out your blog. You can get a lot of followers there. :)

5. Do Promo for Promos; until you reach 1,500 followers, keep on doing promo for promos.

7. Reblog & Likes posts A LOT; this will get a lot of followers to you.

8. Keep your blog clean and tidy; do not post up stuff which is unnecessary. Even if you do, delete that post the next day. REBLOG NICE POSTS! Do not post up stuff which your followers might not like.

9. Social networking; you can make friends on tumblr and tell them to add you on facebook/other social networking sites and keep in touch with them. Tell them to promote you sometimes.

10. Be POLITE to your followers; always be good and nice to your followers. If you are rude, many people are surely going to unfollow you. Why to spread hate when you can spread love and never send hate!

11. Upload a decent avatar; make it or tell someone to make it for you.

12. Keep a page about yourself; a place for you to put every single grainy iPhone photo of yourself taken at some AMAZING media event or karaoke night or just sitting in your bedroom illuminated by the lonely glow of your laptop screen. Posting cool/flattering photos of yourself is super-important, because it visually reinforces the personal brand you’re trying to cultivate with your content. 

13. Make your Tumblr worth following; This is probably the easiest way to get followers. Concentrate on your profile itself. If you could, try to keep only a few topics posted on your profile, for example: photography and art. The users whom like those two topics will start to follow you. If you have a wide variety of crazy content like fashion, death, and sad things then obviously the ones who like fashion don’t want to see all this deadly stuff on their dashboard. 

14. Follow Back; all the users who follow you, are also wanting followers, so go ahead and follow them if you like their blog.

15. Ask a lot; keep asking and contacting Tumblrs saying they have a great blog, etc and tell them to promote you if they like your blog.

16. Never lie; about the number of followers you have. You will get in trouble.

17. Post promo games; Once you reach 1,500 followers start posting promo lists and games for your followers to play !

(ex. ‘First _ to reblog’ or ‘First 5 to guess my favorite ice cream flavor’, etc)

18. Stick to one ‘theme’; If you are a typography blog, don’t keep in switching on and off. Reblog only typographies. 

19. Tag thy post! Tag each and every post of yours.
